Becoming a volunteer at the Foothills Food Bank
If you are interested in volunteering at the Foothills Food Bank, we would be happy to have you! We host volunteer training days the first and third Mondays of each February, June and October. The trainings will take place at 4 pm on these days at our food bank in Cave Creek.
In order to attend one of these training days, you MUST register with us beforehand. You may do so by calling us or stopping by our facility.
You may call us at (480) 488-1145 during our business hours if you have any further questions about becoming a volunteer.
Community Service Volunteers at the Foothills Food Bank
Community service is for students who are required to accumulate hours for a school requirement or for individuals who have a court-ordered requirement.
**NOTE: Community service volunteers must be able to lift 30-40 pounds and stand on their feet for 3 or more hours. If you cannot do this, this may not be the volunteer opportunity for you.
Please also note that all students under 13 must be accompanied by an adult during their volunteer shifts. Both the student and his/her guardian must fill out volunteer applications at the Food Bank before they are eligible to work. You cannot be scheduled until both applications are received.
Community Service hours can be during the week or on Saturday mornings from 8:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M., depending on the needs of the food bank and your schedule.
Click either “COMMUNITY SERVICE APPLICATION FOR STUDENT” or “APPLICATION FOR COURT ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE” to download a copy. There are two separate applications, and each includes the required volunteer liability waiver form. Please make sure you are submitting the correct one.
To return the form to us you can:
1) Scan and email the completed form to email@example.com;
2) Or, drop it off at the Food Bank;
3) Or, mail it to:
Attn: Barbara Ausick
Foothills Food Bank
PO Box 715

Once your application is received, Barbara will be in touch with you to get you on the schedule. Last-minute requests cannot be accommodated. Additionally, work behavior standards must be followed each time you are in the Food Bank. Failure to do so will result in volunteer activities being terminated.
