Thank You 2023 Adopt-A-Family Supporters

Community Spirit Drives Holiday Success in 2023

Thanks to a very generous community and an amazing volunteer event team, the 21st annual Adopt-A-Family holiday program was a tremendous success for our neighbors in need. Together we were able brighten the holidays for even more people this year, with over 500 families receiving gift cards, toys, games, books, blankets and new socks along with holiday-themed treats.

Holiday events were hosted at Canon Elementary School and The Holland Center, and featured games, face painting, a hot dog luncheon and a visit from Jolly Saint Nick. Special thanks to our event sponsors Universal Solar and LINQ and the many volunteers, donors and community members who sprinkled holiday magic onto the affair.

Giving of their time and treasures, we also offer our sincere thanks to: Daisy Mountain Fire Charities; Cox Communications; Kids Need to Read; Desert View Bible Church; Fringe Studios; Anthem Giving Circle; Cave Creek Trinity Fellowship; Desert Foothills Lutheran Church; Good Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church; Kiwanis Club of Carefree; Light of the Desert Lutheran Church.

Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical to the Rescue

While our gratitude for first responders is a year-round sentiment, we express our heartfelt thanks to Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical for their tireless efforts in support of our Adopt-A-Family holiday program.

For the second year in a row, the fire department organized toy drives at local Walmart stores. Under their leadership and with the generous support of the community, they collected thousands of toys, over 75 bicycles, and cash. Many of the donated items were distributed to children through the food bank, and firefighters also volunteered at holiday distribution events.

“Support from the fire department made this holiday initiative truly special,” said volunteer Linda McCabe. “We are immensely grateful for the collective efforts that turned this festive dream into a heartwarming reality. Here’s to spreading warmth and joy throughout the year.”

Because of the efforts of the Daisy Mountain Fire Department, we shared joy with more than 1,400 neighbors.
